Jesus Wept
"Jesus Wept" John 11:35
Have you thought about the kind of Saviour we have. When the world thinks of a savior they think of a man who comes to save the oppressed with strength and power. Well, our Savior is better than any man the world could think up, because while he came with all the strength and power that heaven could afford him, he came in love. He was one who will enter with us into all of our experiences. He felt the pain of those around him so intensely that he wept, even though he knew he was going to raise Lazarus from the dead. Think about it. This same Jesus who had such power at his finger-tips, surrendered to the flow of tears on his friends behalf...and even now, on our behalf. It is remarkable to think that our struggles would trouble his spirit and that our pain would bring tears to his eyes, but that's what is so incredible about our Savior. Yes, he has strength and power, but he is so much more than that. He is tender, gentle and loving. Jesus is the man of our dreams! He cares for us, he feels for us, he prays for us, he sheds tears for us, and ultimately he died for us. Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Thank you Father, for a Savior who weeps. Thank You for giving us Your Son, who is the very image of you. Thank You for Your tears, O God. The tears You both have shed for us make us realize that there is compassion and love and tenderness reaching down to us. Father, help us to realize that we need look no further than Jesus to find all that our hearts desire. AmenÂ
