Walk in Wisdom
"He who trusts in the LORD will prosper. He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom is kept safe." Proverbs 28:25, 26
This is a hard lesson for the human to learn. When we trust in ourselves, we are heading for disaster; but when we trust in the LORD, all will work out for our eternal good. We will prosper! Trust, we are told, is something one must earn. Has not God earned our trust? He has delivered us from sin and death. He is always there for us. He is ever mindful of our needs and works in our lives for His glory and honor. He has taken the pain in our lives and turned it to joy. Surely he has earned our trust! Then why are we so foolish? Why is it that we try to work things out ourselves without the Lord? The old man is so foolish and we need to be rid of him, for only then can we have the wisdom of the Lord, for we will trust in God. When we find ourselves trusting in the Lord and walking in wisdom, we will be safe. Safe from the snares of the devil, safe from the world around, for no one and nothing will be able to separate us from our God.
Dear Father, we are by nature so foolish and yet you have given us the opportunity to put off the old man and take on a new nature. Teach us to trust in you! Give us your wisdom that we might know that when we put our trust in you there is nothing that can happen to us that has not first passed through your loving hands and will work out for our eternal good. You love us and have a plan and a purpose for our lives. Let us never lose sight of that. Help us to bring you glory and honor when spiritual prosperity come to us by trusting in you. Thank you for never giving up on us. Amen
