My Kingdom is Not of This World
Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place." John 18:36
How thankful I am that Jesus' kingdom is not of this world! His kingdom is from heaven and will radiate to this dark earth, overcoming all the evil that rules here now, with everlasting good and righteousness. His kingdom will fill this world with all that we have ever longed for: kindness, charity, goodness, happiness, health and, most of all, true and abiding love. Not the love that man knows now; a fleeting love, but perfect, unconditional love that will fill this earth and change every heart that will allow Him access. This kingdom will be like no other, for Christ will be the King. Jesus Christ's servants could not fight for his release because the plan was that He must first save the world in order to become King. How fitting that the Savior of all mankind should become their King! His subjects owe their lives to Him. In that day, what His subjects will not do for Him who died to save them! I long for that kingdom to come; this world groans for that kingdom to come. Let us live in the hope of Christ's coming that we might finally see the fulfillment of these words of Jesus and live in that perfect kingdom in peace and harmony. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
Father, the world groans for Your kingdom. I long for it to come. I am thankful for Your plan, a plan that will bring salvation to all mankind, not just some. May Your kingdom come quickly and the day when all will know and love You as I do. AmenÂ
