Your Word in My Heart
“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11
As we saturate ourselves in God’s word, we will find that His words are hidden in our hearts. When temptations come, God’s word will act as a guard to keep us from falling into sin. It will remind us that we should never allow the sun to set on our anger. It will remind us that God hates a lying tongue. It will remind us that our bodies are a temple of God. As we spend time in God’s word, it will become more and more a part of who we are, and it will guide us to live as He would have us live. It will act as a sentry, allowing to enter only that which is holy. It will convict us when sin reaches to take hold of us. It will act to remind us that God will never leave us nor forsake us. It will keep our hearts from worry and despair knowing that His word has told us over and over again that God loves us and will keep us from all harm. Grab hold of His precious promises and keep them hidden in your heart. Unbelief and a lack of faith in your Father is a sin. We often forget that. Hide his word in your heart that you might always bring glory and honor to your faithful Father.
O Lord, we so often fail You because we have not taken Your word and hidden it in our hearts. Help me to saturate myself in Your word. Bring to mind Your words when sin sits at my door. Let Your words bring me life and victory as I am reminded of Your faithfulness and Your promises of help in time of need. Let me call on You for the help You have promised me in Your word. Amen
