Time Capsule Drawings

1. The subject of my creation is a corner of a room, I drew my room and I tried to draw what I saw. I also drew a basket of fruit that was in front of a window so I drew the window so it wasn't boring. Lastly I drew a self portrait I tried to add every little detail that I saw to make it look more like me. The work was made by first drawing the objects and the outline of the things then I started to blend it to add value to my art work. I used my fingers to blend and a pencil to draw the objects. We were told to create a self portrait, the corner of my room and a still object. So I chose to draw a fruit basket because it was in front of me and I thought it would be a good idea. I used pattern on my still object because the fruit bowl had a pattern already. On the corner of my room and my self portrait I used lines to show the different elements of the artwork. I also had to look in a mirror to draw my self portrait.

2. My still image I used leading lined to make the fruit bowl the main focus. On my self portrait I used a formal balance to make everything centered. Lastly I used leading lines on the corner of a room to show the different outlines of the shapes. My project evolved by at first I didn't shade anything but then I noticed that it was boring and so I shaded my drawings.

3. The story behind my artwork is that I drew 3 time capsule drawings to see how I grow as an artist. My project relates to my life by instead of looking at a picture I am looking at real life objects like a self portrait, fruit bowl and a corner of a room. I think my artwork could be stronger by my corner of my room looking more like a corner instead of just a line. I also could have filled in my white space more and added color to my artwork.
