Macro Leaf

The subject of my creation is a small portion of a leaf that I enlarged. The settinging is where I got the leaf which was outside. I made this by first gathering leaves then choosing a part of it that I wanted to draw/paint. I used watercolor paint to show different layers, that appears to be shown on leaves. I chose to create this part of the leave because it showed the most amounts of color and I liked it the most. I showed texture in my work by layering paint to make it look like its popping out. Lastly I used emphasis to make the focal point the middle where the stem is.

One composition rule and technique that is showcased in my art is leading lines because the lines show the creases throughout the leaves. Like the center line and lines leading off of the middle line. My project evolved because I first drew my project with pencil, then I added water color. I had to keep layering paint to add texture to my work and different values throughout my work.

The meaning behind my artwork is that I created something relating to fall and the pretty leaves. This relates to my life because I love how cool leaves look when their different colors so, doing this project makes me realize how unique they are. I think I could make my project stongert by focusing more on values and trying to make my piece look more like the original image.
