The subject of my creation are two roads leading together with multiple houses. They are on a balanced scale, showing that in a community everyone should be equal. I made this by using acrylic paint in the background, houses and road. I used pen to make the dots and and the scale. I chose to create this because we were asked to create something showing equality in a community, so I decided to show a balanced scale with houses, which are typically in a community. In my artwork I used color to uplift my painting and make it more exciting. I also used balance, to balance the left side from the right side to make them equal.
Throughout my artwork I used sharp focus, so when people look at my artwork the first thing you notice is the scale. I also used leading lines in the road, so they lead to the scale which is the main focus of my project. Over this course of this project I had many ideas on how I could include everyone in a community. I thought of doing different size and colored houses, then I figured I should try to make them somehow equal, so I added a scale.
The meaning of my artwork is to show what it means to me to include everybody in a community, whether they has a disability or don't dress the same as others, everyone is still equally. I think houses and people are important in a community because they make up a community. I think my project could be different by adding more on disabilities to show how they should not be signaled out like they may be in certain cases.
