Candy Still life

1. The subject of my creation is a package of skittles that is open with skittles coming out of it. The setting is on a piece of paper with candy on it. The work was made by first arranging the skittles on a smaller piece of paper and glueing them down. Then I enlarged what I saw on the smaller paper by drawing it to match the size and shape with a 2h pencil. After I colored in the skittles package and skittles with colored pencils. I chose to create this because we used extra halloween candy to do this project. I used color to show the different contrasts between the lighter colors and darker colors.

2. In my art I used framing to keep the main focus on my drawing in the inside of the frame. I also made the skittles package go out of the frame. My project evolved because my project was really light and you could see through it, so I darkened it and made my shadows more noticeable.

3. The meaning is that we used halloween candy to create something that is fun and exciting. Everybody picked their favorite candies to draw. This projects relates to my life because I love skittles, they are one of my favorite candies, so I wanted to draw skittles, but I was tempted to eat them while I was doing this project. I think my artwork could be stronger because I could have filled in my white space.I also could have made my objects overlap and go off the border in more spots.
