Extended Blind Contour Drawing

1. The subject of my creation is I drew something out of my blind contour drawings. The setting is that there is a face and different shapes that are in fire and the wood is what the fire is coming out of. I made the work by first drawing with sharpie my blind contour drawings then I painted the shapes in the face. I drew fire and colored it with colored pencil, I also drew the wood and colored it with colored pencil. Then I shaded the background with a colored pencil. I chose to create this artwork because I saw that it looked like a face so I colored the face but I needed to fill in the white space so I drew fire then shaded the background. I used emphasis to make the face and different shapes the main focus of my artwork.

2. In my artwork I used was formal balance to balance the shapes and objects with the colors. Some techniques I used are outlining because I outlined all of the shapes with a sharpie. My project evolved because at first I just had my blind contour drawings with no color or anything, but then I added color and more shapes to my artwork. While doing this project I noticed there was a lot of white space so that is why I added fire to my artwork.

3. The meaning is that there is different things in the fire that are burning and the fire is coming out of the wood. My project relates to my life because I was trying to represent my creativity by the fire burning the objects, fire it is a symbol of creativity so that is why I created this. I think I could make my artwork stronger by instead of shading the background I could draw something else.
