"Colorful lines"
Colored pencils, black fine point pen, oil pastel
8"x 11"
The subject of my creation is blind contour drawings, which I then manipulated to make colorful. My project shows a lot of color and also reminds me of Picassos work, with many shapes and colors. I wasn't sure how to manipulate my piece, with just the lines, so I decided to start by coloring in the different shapes with related colors. Like one face I drew with different oranges, while the other faces I used yellow and blues.
For this project, I started out by first drawing a blind contour of two faces on the zoom call and two of the skeleton. My first drawings were really small, so the next two I tried to make larger, but they were still small, so I drew one more to make more overlapping lines. I then used colored pencils to color in the shapes within the faces and other overlapping lines. for the background I used oil pastels because they remind me of Picassos pieces, which inspired me in my artwork. I basically just scribbled in the back ground with many different colors of pastels and blended them together using a tortilin.
Throughout my artwork, I used to color, I did this because I was inspired by Picassos artwork and he uses many different colors, which I really like. I also used line because it was the main focus of my piece because I worked around the line. At first I wasn't sure where I wanted to go with this piece, so I started filling in random sections with color. this made it look more abstract. My next steps in this project would be to go over some of the colored pencil areas to make them completely filled in and also make the colors connect better.
