1. The subject of my creation is a sloth on a tree branch. The setting is set in the woods because there are a bunch of tree branches and leaves. I made the work by drawing every thing first with pencil then coloring over it with colored pencils. I made different lines to show meaning and I also shaded my art. I chose to create this artwork because I wanted to create some sort of animal out of the drips. I used color to show the different shapes and lines. I used patterns in the leaves. I also used framing around the leaves and branches.
2. I used a formal balance because the drips were angled a little so i drew the sloth at an angle so it was balanced with the rest of my drawing. My project evolved because at first I had just a sloth around a tree branch, but I had a lot of extra space so I added a background and then added a few colors.
3. The meaning is that the sloth was showing his emotions by his facial expressions and the background. I tried to make the drips into something unique that most people wouldn't have thought of. My project relates to my life because I like sloths and I think they are cute. I could have made my artwork stronger by using all my white space and shading a little darker. Something that bothers me is that you can see the pencil marks under the color pencils
