Embroidery Cardinal

I wanted to use color to show the relationship between birds and other animals, along with nature. I choose to express a cardinal because they represent a bright red color, which makes it stand out.

The work was made by using an old t-shirt, then creating a bright red bird out of string on top, showing a unique concentration and material use. I used a needle to layer string creating a bird with no part of the shirt showing through.

I choose to show a more chaotic scene while still demonstrating a thoughtful use of material choice.
