Anxious

"Anxious"

6"x4 1/2"

The subject of my creation is a dog (cloe), feeling submissive about something. I chose to draw this because I want to continue to build off of my concentration by using another example of an animals emotions. The emotion I was trying to convey is submissive, anxious. I liked the ears back, eyes wondering, worried about why I was taking pictures.

I made this piece by using using watercolor paper to draw this piece on. I started by using first sketching it out with light pencil, then using colored pencil to actually draw the piece. I used light neutral colors throughout the face and neck, and use darker browns and blacks on the eyes and ears.

Throughout this project I used color throughout the face, showing the colors of cloe. I also used pattern in the background by creating a zigzag pattern to add the feeling of submissive. Over the course of this project, I had to pay attention to the colors I used, match them to Cloe’s actual color. My next steps in this project would be burnish the colored pencil, creating a fluent solid piece.
