The subject of my creation is a snake and a monster trying to eat it. The setting is in dark place which is shown by the ink. The work was made by first creating 9 gelation inks, using props to make the prints look cool. I also used black and blue ink giving myself options as to what one I wanted to chose and create something out of. I chose to create this because when I looked at my print I thought it would be cool to make a snake using the strip that looked almost like skin. I felt I had to add something else so I created a monster. One element that is presented in my art is color by coloring the snake and monster. One principal I used was pattern in the snake with stripes and a pattern with color.
One composition rule and technique that is showcased in my artwork is formal balance because I put the monster on the top to balance the snake on the bottom of the paper. My project evolved because first I was drawing on a different print but I didn't like my idea so I switched to a different print. At first I just had a snake but I wanted to add more so I asked my dad and he thought it would be cool to add a monster looking like is about to eat the snake.
The meaning behind my artwork is a snake and a scary looking monster that supposedly is trying to eat the snake. This relates to my life because I think monsters and snakes are super scary but because the print is dark and scary as well it seemed appropriate. I think my art could be stronger by adding more things like details or characters. One really specific thing that bothers me is the monster's eyes pupil, which is really small so I would make it larger.
