College black student union members at colleges universities are losing their rights to be in black student union because of the DEI paying tax funds in 2024.
On August 29,2024 the black student union students of Alabama university received devastating news about the funding being cut towards BSU .Carver Bsu member Suhayla Roache 11th grader began to worry about our carver BSU thinking about ways to get the funding.
¨I would try to save our black student union by doing fundraisers¨.Said Suhayla Roache
Black Student Union announced that the group would no longer have a designated place on campus, in compliance with recent statewide legislation that prohibits public universities and state agencies from allocating resources to diversity equity and inclusion programs often referred to as DEI.
¨Protesting is also one of the best way I could think of to help keep black student union.¨ Said Carver Student Suhayla Roache
BSU’s statement also addressed the importance of creating Black Student Unions and their mission. Black Student Union was created to become a safe space to our peers and inform them about our history ". Said Ms.Moore-Almond

“The beginning of the semester was filled with truly heartbreaking closures across campus,”
“I can't imagine losing black student union, I don’t know what I would do if I could not attend black student union anymore.” Said Jaden 11th grader
“To all students who have felt lost … We have not forgotten about you, and we will continue fighting for your place at the University of Utah and beyond,” the BSU concluded.
Black student Union is a safe space that is needed for our peers.We come together to celebrate our black community. This club is needed. Said Suhayla Roache
