The other day I had the pleasure of enjoying some halal food with one of my friends. We headed over to the halal truck at 15th and Spring Garden. My usual order is chicken over rice (pictured above) with white sauce and extra red sauce (habanero). Wondering what's in those sauces? Read more here.

Each grain of rice has its own flavor, and the chicken is fresh. The red sauce is just spicy enough, and the white sauce cancels out the spiciness just a little bit. Halal food is usually found at food trucks that line up across the streets in the busiest times. They have a wide assortment of other dishes like gyros, pita bread, and lamb over rice. Overall I think halal food is a whole new experience, and that if you haven’t yet, should try it. So yes, halal food is definitely worth the hype.
