From writing on the walls to clogged toilets, it’s an issue that has raised constant concern as another school year comes to a close. But, art students and students a part of the GSA (Gender Sexuality Alliance) are now looking to change that with a new painting that aims to beautify the spaces.
The bathrooms have been a running issue since the beginning of every school year, according to Carver's cleaning staff.
“They (the students) could start cleaning up after themselves after using the bathroom,” Ms. Imani said.
Ms Imani also talked about the impact of students treating the bathrooms unfairly and its toll on the staff.
“It makes a lot more work on us when cleaning,” Ms. Imani said.

Other students at Carver have their own opinions about the current state of the bathrooms.
“I do feel uncomfortable because they’re really dirty and I don’t like touching the place at all,” Oscar Roman said
An article shows how many children feel uncomfortable using the bathrooms at their school.
Oscar added to his previous quote and talked about what the students could do to help continue to keep the bathrooms clean.
“We should overall be thoughtful of everyone else,” Oscar said.
A sophomore here at Carver, Charlie Benatov, had his thoughts on the bathrooms.
“They could be way cleaner than they are currently,” Charlie Benatov said.

The Art Club and the GSA (Gender Sexuality Alliance) have made an art project in the Gender-Neutral bathroom in hopes of making the space look better. River Dilone, a Junior gave insight into what the clubs are doing.
“We are currently painting canvases to hang up on the bathroom wall,” River Dilone said.
Overall students are hoping that others will be more mindful of the bathrooms, and the staff hopes that the students will continue to clean up after themselves. The GSA and the Art Club are hoping that they can hopefully continue spreading the canvases around the school to brighten everyone's spirit.
