Syrian Conflict Project

Go here for the Wikipedia page outlining the Syrian conflict.

For this project, students will be divided into 5 groups, each group responsible for teaching about a certain aspect of the Syrian conflict. Each group will be responsible for making sure the class understands the information, including new vocabulary and concepts. Each group will make a powerpoint to present the information to the class. In addition, each group will write at least five multiple choice questions that cover the information presented. These will be submitted to the teacher who will compile these questions in a quiz to be given when the presentations have been completed.

Here is a good website for help on how to write a multiple choice question.

  • Group 1 - Background

  • Group 2 - Uprising and Civil war (2.1 - 2.5)

  • Group 3 - Non-State Parties in the Conflict

  • Group 4 - Foreign Reaction and Involvement

  • Group 5 - Impact

Students will have two class lessons, one in the library and one in the classroom, to complete the work. The presentations will be graded according to the Preston Oral Presentation rubric.
