Voting Rights
Throughout America’s history, the right to vote has been controversial. There always been a push back to giving the to vote to just anyone. I admit that counting the vote of any idiot that shows up is stupid. Unfortunately, it is the least stupid possibility we have. However, there are alternatives.
We could update the literacy test. It doesn’t sound unreasonable to require voters to have an IQ of at least one hundred. Or, at the very least, a voter should be able to find Waldo. But my favorite test for voters is the United States citizenship test. You're also thinking that this favors liberals. You are right. Paul Ryan said it best, "Smart people don't vote Republican".

Another possibility is restrict voting to people who are actually taxpayers. That is, the money that they pay in is more than the benefits and payments they get out. We are running a deficit, therefore there aren’t many actual taxpayers out there. Oh, I forgot. Conservatives don’t believe in paying taxes.
Maybe beyond a certain age, say the national life expectancy, people should be assumed to be mentally incompetent. They could regain their right to vote by proving their competency. We could set up hearing boards to rule on their plea. It could work like the hearing boards in Florida that hear the appeals of felons for their right to vote. I'm sure the hearing boards for the elderly will work just as well.
I know that this sounds unfair. It is unfair. But it's not any more unfair than the other ways that America has restricted Americans from voting.
