Private Prisons

Corporations are good at taking care of their customers. Their customer is the individual that pays them. Unfortunately, the government doesn't have to put up with private prisons, the prisoners do. Which means that the corporation doesn't care about their prisoners. This is not good.

Instead, why don't we make private prisons responsible to their inmates. They could be rated. They could be commented on. Every year, the inmates could have open enrollment and be allowed to transfer to the prison of their choice. That way prisons would compete for government dollars. I call this accountability.

Open enrollment would be staggered over the year in order to prevent a year end surge of transfers
