Let’s just accept that the top of Everest is a tourist trap that kills people. Let's replace it with a tourist trap that doesn't kill people.

I know that building a hotel on the top of Everest will be expensive and dangerous. The elevator shaft alone will be a world record holder. Worse, the mountain will be closed for some time. Yes, the hotel and the transport will need to be pressurized. And yes, we will probably end up with another revolving restaurant. However, the tourist appeal will be endless. And the hotel will be open all year round.
