Snap Presidential election

In the course of human events, the US shall, from time to time, the US shall have the need to call, on a short notice, an unscheduled presidential election.

Ground Rules

I define major political parties as those that have a member of their party as a governor of one of the US states. I define all other US parties as minor parties. A major party will have their governor in the most populous states automatically listed as their be their nominee. Their vice presidential nominee will be the nominee's lieutenant governor. Minor parties will have one week to choose their candidates. Those that fail to do so will be left out of the election.

The election will take place in two weeks. The vote shall be an up or down vote on each presidential candidate. The presidential candidate and their respective vice presidential candidate, who receives the most votes to the affirmative shall be elected president and vice president, respectively

Congress shall have the authority to ban presidential campaigning for the last week of the election.

For the duration of the election, congress shall have the authority to regulate campaign contributions including the limiting of contributions to natural persons who are citizens and residents of the United States of America
