College Football

Face facts, college football is a highly profitable sports league masquerading as a extracurricular activity. Worse, the athletes receive none of this income. Even prisoners get room and board. In fact, they are an unfair competition with professional football. I propose that college students that participate in sports that make a profit should be paid.

Ground rules

• 1/2 of all revenue derived from the team should be paid out to players
• Starting players should be paid a salary
• Reserve players should be paid a minimum wage
• Players who "graduate" should be given the option of a real college education
• Graduating starting players should receive a lifetime retirement fund
• Graduating reserve players should receive a lifetime stipend
