Cybertruck design

Everyone has posted their thoughts on the Cybertruck, here are mine

Good:

a unique look, an aerodynamic shape that actually works, great interior space, LED lights strips that don’t pretend to be incandescent headlights, a lockable armored bed cover that rolls up, a stainless steel body that stands up to damage and corrosion, a BEV truck for the price (hopefully ) of a Tesla model 3, bullet resistance to 9mm, LED lit interior and bed, 110V and 220v outlets that can power your tools, a tie down mounting system of rails and slots that should have been standard on trucks a long time ago and a great price for an electric vehicle that can seat six people and can kick a Porsche's ass

Bad:

The touch screen isn't the answer to everything, I don't see short bed trucks as trucks, there's no place to mount a winch, no place to mount a Starlink antenna (SpaceX), a steering wheel that is that should be replaced with a wheel, the signal lights may not be legal, lousy price for a truck. Will you be able to get any cellphone service inside a stainless steal box? of a vehicle. How do you repair body damage? Shouldn't a Tesla truck look like a Tesla

Ugly:

Even other vehicles welded from flat sheets of metal don't look as ugly. Can it be repaired without looking totally ugly or would that be an improvement. Color options are shiny or black. The interior is as stark and uninviting as the public restroom in a national park. Governments don’t buy armored personal carriers for their looks. Ever hear of a circle ?!? From now on, I will not listen to anyone calling any other car ugly.

Doesn't fit:

Check the dimensions, it's huge. Where will you drive or park your Cybertruck?

Scary:

Where are the crumple zones? Is the Cybertruck designed to kill pedestrians? Is the Cybertruck designed to crush other vehicles? Aren't car windows are supposed to be breakable so that the fire department can rescue you? Is this body resistant to the jaws of life?

Sad:

In their abandonment of stamping and painting vehicle bodies, Tesla is admitting that they're not comfortable building cars. Tesla is finally admitting that they are actually computer people by building a truck body that is built like a scaled up computer case.

Why is it that everyone's idea of of a Tesla truck was totally better looking than Tesla's version?

Future

The cut, fold and weld production system for the Cybertruck looks like the construction method with the lowest tooling cost. What happens if all of our cars are built that way. A few armored cars are one thing. However, the thought of all our cars being welded together from flat plate is unsettling . Our cars would finally look all alike. I’m just thankful for 3D printing.

What is it

The Cybertruck is not a truck

The Cybertruck is what I call a convergence vehicle. Just like the smartphone, the Cybertruck does everything as best that it can. It has spacious seating for six. There's plenty of cargo space in the lockable trunk. It can drive off road. The base model can do some towing. For $10,000 you can upgrade to 4 wheel drive. The Cybertruck is also a good sports car. It kinda does everything.

The cyber truck is a good replacement for a Ford Crown Victoria. It makes a good police car. My best guess, based on other people's best guesses, is that US sales of police cars are about 50k a year. That is not great, but it might be enough yearly sales to keep the lights on

However, the Cybertruck is the next Ford Model T. It's designed from a strictly utilitarian viewpoint. The Cybertruck does what you need done, without regard to style. The Cybertruck is the off-road passenger utility vehicle that harks back to off-road utility capabilities of the model T. It also comes in any color, as long as it's black.
