Bipartisanship
In Washington DC, it has become fashionable to publicly support bipartisanship. This is a good thing. I support all Americans citizens over the age of eighteen having a say in our government policy. The key word is all.
The US Senate give an advantage to Republicans by giving votes to states rather than citizens
The US House gives Republicans an advantage by allowing Republicans to redistrict house races to their advantage
State governments control over federal elections allow Republicans to suppress and discourage voters that they don't like
Republicans, including their grass roots supporters, believe that the Republican duty to their country is to block whatever liberals want to do
Republicans insist that fifty Senate seats are not enough. To have a real majority and pass bills, the Democrats must win sixty seats
Republicans refuse to acknowledge the millions of people who voted for liberal candidates
Until Republicans respect the fact that liberal are Americans and deserve a say in America, I see no point in any talk of bipartisanship
