Bipartisanship

In Washington DC, it has become fashionable to publicly support bipartisanship. This is a good thing. I support all Americans citizens over the age of eighteen having a say in our government policy. The key word is all.

  • The US Senate give an advantage to Republicans by giving votes to states rather than citizens

  • The US House gives Republicans an advantage by allowing Republicans to redistrict house races to their advantage

  • State governments control over federal elections allow Republicans to suppress and discourage voters that they don't like

  • Republicans, including their grass roots supporters, believe that the Republican duty to their country is to block whatever liberals want to do

  • Republicans insist that fifty Senate seats are not enough. To have a real majority and pass bills, the Democrats must win sixty seats

  • Republicans refuse to acknowledge the millions of people who voted for liberal candidates

Until Republicans respect the fact that liberal are Americans and deserve a say in America, I see no point in any talk of bipartisanship
