NSA Backups

Americans refuse to plan for the future. Americans refuse to plan for disasters. The only time you sell an American a parachute is after they have hit the ground. In particular, Americans can't handle ransomware. One day, someone in the corporation or local government or utility or hospital clicks on the wrong email and installs a program that encrypts the company's databases. When management discovers that their organization is crippled without their data, they pay the ransom.

This has to stop. Organizations are compounding their criminal negligence by supporting criminal organizations with their ransom payments. Like it or not, they are going to have to backup their data. I propose doing this for them.

America should designate organizations as critical. What comes to mind are governments, infrastructure such as utilities, medical facilities, financial instantiations and our premier corporations. Once a week, the National Security Agency should break into their servers (try the default passwords) and download their essential database. Then, the NSA should offer them a deal that they "cannot refuse". We give you back your data. We keep quit about your criminal negligence. You keep your mouth shut about our covert backup program

Does the NSA have the authority and right to do this. Two words, NATIONAL SECURITY. This is our country's data and should be protected, whether our country's administrators like it or not
