WHITE FLOWER APPEAL – This Sunday 8th January there will be a retiring collection for SPUC, the Society for the protection of the Unborn Child. Over 8.7 unborn children have lost their lives in the past 50 years. Please see cards at the back of church and give generously. Thank You

CONFIRMATIONS 2017 – A letter has been sent out to all eligible students at St. Benet Biscop's who wish to be confirmed this year, inviting them to a meeting on Tuesday 10th January 2017 at 6pm, at St. Benet Biscop School, Bedlington. We are aware that not all of St. John's children attend this school.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION – Session 4 will be held at St. Paul's Church at 6pm on Thursday 12th January 2017.
GARDEN PARTY 2017 – Janet and Angelo Memola will be holding a meeting on Sunday 15th January for anyone interested in organising a Garden Party. Also Angelo is appealing for helpers to tidy the Sacristy and the Old Choir.
2017 NORTHERN CATHOLIC CALENDAR – Are on sale at the back of church Price £2.50
EVENING CHRONICLE “WISH TOKENS FOR CHARITY” - Janet Memola will be collecting them. The last collection will be today 8th January 2017.
COFFEE AFTERNOONS – The next two Coffee Afternoons will be this Thursday 12th January and 9th February 2017 at 1.30pm. These are open to ALL, not just parishioners, Please come along and invite a friend and your neighbour.
PARISH COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES – The minutes of the last meeting held 4th December 2016 are displayed on the notice board for anyone who did not recieve an electronic copy via the parish email system.

The Magi – The final part of StJohns YPC video on the story of the Nativity with Fr. Harriott narration is now on-line. Simply search for ‘st johns annitsford’.
These and other videos will be added to the DVD the children are commissioned to make to raise some funds for CAFOD and family outreach.
Baptism of the Lord – Though this is celebrated this Monday, we will also ‘promote’ for Sunday 15th as we have sent out invites to all who were baptised last year to come to Mass.
Voices of Faith: Heroes of the Faiths – Sources of Inspiration & Challenge - You are invited to join us for the next Voices of Faith session on Wed. 18th January 2017, 6.00pm-8.30pm in the Jubilee Hall, Church of the Holy Cross, Ovington Grove, Fenham, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE5 2QP. StJohns Youth Council Family Christmas Party – Raffle Results
StJohns YPC would like to thank you all for making the night such a great success. We would very much like to build on this and host more family focus events throughout 2017, inviting all in our partnership and extended community. We are aiming for a family ‘ceilidh night’ in February/March. Feedback and ideas are always very much welcomed. We would like to say a special thank you to Blue Reef Aquarium for their generous donations …

DVD for sale for StJohns Youth Council & CAFOD
Over this Advent and Christmas period, StJohns Youth Council have created a number of videos – some of which have been played on St. John’s website and social media (simple search for ‘st johns annitsford’ on the internet)
The youth council are hoping to raise some funds for both family activities and for CAFOD by creating a DVD that will contain:
Fr. Harriott narrating the two videos of The Nativity
‘The Birth of Jesus’ and ‘The Magi’
StJohns Family Christmas party including live performance of:
‘Feed The World’ and Fr. Harriott’s ‘Yellow-24’ joke
StJohns YPC visit to the recording studio in Newcastle to record ‘Feed The World’
A number of ‘outtakes’ and photos and some additional ‘special’ footage
Your generosity is always appreciated as without you we would not be able to reach out to families in the way we do.
