HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL EVENING - A Survivor's Story – Mrs Marta Josephs will tell the story of her father Mr. Andrew Frankel at St. Mary's Catholic School, Benton Park Road, Newcastle NE7 7PE on Wednesday 25th January 2017 at 7pm. Poster on our Notice Board.

BURNS NIGHT – St. Paul's Parish will be holding a Burns Night supper of Neep, Tatties & Haggis on Thursday 26th Jan at the Benedictine Club. Dancing to the Stakeford Folk Band.

      • The Jerusalem Legal Aid Centre is a pioneering Palestinian human rights organisation. Since its inception over 37 years ago, it has provided pro-bono legal aid and services to some of the poorest and most marginalized people and communities in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

      • Join us to hear from JLAC’s Director Issam Aruri and EU Project Coordinator Shu’la Abdelhadi about the realities of life under occupation.

      • Lord Nicholas Stern will reflect on what’s happened in the ten years since his landmark report on the economic impacts of climate change. This major event will be held at Newcastle University and will be followed by a panel discussion on Christian Responses to Climate Change including CAFOD’s very own Maria Elena Arana.

      • Galilee Talks - Saturday 4th February 2017 at 11 am at St. Mary's, Hexham

      • “If the Jesus of the Gospel, who befriended tax collectors and prostitutes, returned today, what message would we have for lap dancers and people on zero hours contracts – and their employers?”

      • The fourth in this year’s series of Galilee Talks is due to take place on Saturday 4th February and will be delivered by Max Winthrop, who, as well as being one of St. Mary’s parishioners, is an employment lawyer, being senior partner and head of the employment department at the Newcastle firm of Short Richardson and Forth LLP.

      • He is a member of the Employment Law Committee of the Law Society of England and Wales, and of the Executive Committee of the Industrial Law Society.
