The table below contain the names of those who gave their lives so we could be free. The parish of St. John’s remembers their names and prays for the repose of their souls
Inside the door of our church hang memorial plaques with the names of those who have gone to the loving arms of Jesus. The Stations of the Cross that adorn the walls of St. John’s are dedicated to the fallen – and every time St. John's performs the Stations of the Cross, they are remembered in our prayers.
One of the plaques reads:
“… To the Greater Honour & Glory of God and as an Expression of Love & Gratitude.
To the Following Members of Annitsford Catholic Church who gave their lives in the Great European War.
This set of Stations of the Cross is Dedicated …”
“…greater love than this no man hath that a man lay down his life for his friends …” John 15:13
“…Requiescant in Pace …”

"... They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them ..."
