NEW PARISHIONERS - If you are a new member of the parish, would you please make yourself known to Fr. Harriott or a member of the Parish Council and complete a form available at the back of church.
NEXT SUNDAY (20th SEPT. 2015) There will be a retiring collection for Home Mission Sunday. Prayer cards with a message from Pope Francis are available at the back of church, please take one.
GIFT AID STATEMENTS – There is a Gift Aid Statement at the back of church for All those who gift aid their planned giving. Please collect yours.
RED MISSION BOXES – If your box has not been emptied recently, please bring to church next week and collect it the following week.
CHANGING MASS TIMES – These will take place from this weekend. Please see the Information on the Notice Board and the questionnaire/comment slips at the back of church.
PLEASE NOTE – There will be no weekday Masses this week (to be replace by Eucharistic Services)
BAPTISM – Please remember in your prayers John Joseph Baldacchino-Nicholson who will be baptised on Sunday 13th Sept. 2015 at 11am and Jessica Lucy Stevens who will be baptised on Saturday 19th Sept. at 12.30pm
THE ROSARY – During the month of October Kathleen Dawson will be giving a talk on the rosary in the church hall at 2.30pm each Wednesday. Anyone wishing to attend who will require transport, please telephone Kathleen on 0191 2667775.
YOUTH MASS - (27th SEPT. 2015 at 9.30am) PREPARATION – A Youth Mass is planned for St. John's and St. Paul's Youth under the umbrella of FTiH, there will also be a commitment during the Mass by the parents of our First Holy Communion children. Fr. Harriott & Fr. Lee Barrett will concelebrate the Mass.
MASS INTENTIONS - Mass intentions are not very far in advance, please use the envelopes at the back of church should you wish to have a Mass offered. Please provide your tel. no in case your chosen date is not available. Sunday Masses are further in advance than weekday Masses.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS & READERS – A revised rota is on the church notice board. Please contact Gerry Killen if you require a hard copy.
FTiH - Youth & First Holy Commitment Mass – Sunday 27th September 9.30am Mass at St John's will be a Youth Mass for young people of both St. Paul's and St. John's parishes.
Both Fr. Harriott and Fr. Lee will concelebrate the mass which will be based under the umbrella of ‘Forward together in Hope’.
During the mass the parents of the children who wish to make their first Holy Communion in May (2016) will make their commitment promises.
After mass, we will all gather together to celebrate our youth and the commitment they have made. Our young people will be invited to participate in a small ‘Forward Together in Hope’ activity which will take place in the Hall. We are also asking parishioners if they would kindly bring food to celebrate this occasion. We will have a Marquee on the lawn of St. John’s for the occasion and it would be lovely to see you all there.
Deanery Evangelisation Meeting – Saturday 19th Sept 2015 at St. Bede’s Bedlington starting at 12:30pm. Please support this event and come along and meet, talk and share practical ideas that we can use in our parish. There will also be a shared table. Forward together in Hope (FTiH) – Becoming Disciples of Jesus - Please make every effort to be involved and have YOUR say.
All twelve questions have now been published in the bulletin and spare paper copies are at the back of church. Please provide your feedback direct to Fr. Harriott or place in the box at the back of church. Minutes of ALL meetings are also in the FTiH book at the back of church, please read and feel free to respond.
The next FTiH parishioners meeting will be held today following the 9:30am Mass. Jerry Laidler and PC members will be available at the meeting to listen to, and capture any questions, concerns or ideas.
FTIH – Responding to Questions – Some parishioners have already come forward and offered their services in helping collate information in order that we answer the questionnaire as fully as we can. If any parishioner wishes to offer their services, please speak with Fr. Harriott.
Northern Cross - FTiH Individual Questionnaire – Has been published in this month’s Northern Cross (September). Feel free to pick up a copy and fill in your Individual Questionnaire.
