StJohns Youth Council Events– CAFOD Fundraising:

StJohns YPC will this year be hoping to raise money for a Community Water Supply for a village that CAFOD support in Africa so they can have clean, safe water. Providing them with their own materials & training to build and maintain boreholes, pumps and water tanks.

We hope to raise £750 by the end of the year.

To kick start this fund raising effort, the youth council are asking for any

EMPTY & CLEAN BEER CANS.

(Ahem – empty is optionalJ) we need about 30-40 as part of this initiative to collect ‘money in a beer can’.

All clean empties please give to Kathryn --- All full ones to Jerry & Gerry J #GodBless+

UPDATE Garden Party 2017 – We have moved the garden party to be on the 9th of July. The reason is that Tony Turner advised as part of the confirmation programme the candidates are having a trip to Holy Island on the 1st and suggested that it may be nice if we combine our parish trips with that day. We have therefore moved our trip to coincide with this date and therefore moved the Garden Party to Sunday 9th July 2017.

What is also great is that this is the same day that CAFOD will be doing their Holy Island Pilgrimage.

Last years 'Lampedusa Cross' cross one was great so it would be nice to hook up and offer people an opportunity to take part in some of the services CAFOD will be arranging.

That said, the parish trip is in the same vein as last year - family focused but allowing people to do their own thing.

The meeting on Sunday 12th Feb will be to look at the ideas presented and allocate responsibilities – we need people to help in the logistics and on the day, otherwise we won’t be able to do all that has been suggested.

The intention of the Garden Party is not to be a fund raiser but to bring communities together in the grounds of St. Johns for an afternoon of family fun with any surplus money that is raised on the day going to CAFOD.

St. Patrick’s Night Ceilidh for All the Community - Friday 17th March @7:30pm:
