Post date: Oct 30, 2016 5:54:0 PM

St. Paul’s (Cramlington), St. Bede’s (Bedlington), Our Lady & St. Joseph, (New Hartley) We await formal responses to our requests for an initial meeting with each church Sacred Heart (North Gosforth) We have had a positive initial meet and greet with Sacred Heart we intend to meet again and start to make inroads.

Since losing our Vigil Mass, some of our parishioners have been going to Sacred Heart on a Saturday evening

Also, St. Paul’s/The Good Shepherd Church of England (Dudley/Burradon) and also St. Nicholas Church of England (Cramlington)

We are having conversations on how we can increase our churches together remit

Prayer Outside of FTiH Meetings

As we go through this phase of FTiH we encourage all parishioners to prayer for its success and for the communities around us whom we serve and outreach to.

During this time, could you help partake in some of the prayer suggestions that we have.

If you have any suggestions yourself, please let us know.

Rosary Prayer & Discussion – Will be resumed in the hall every Wednesday during the month of October at 2pm. This will be led by Kathleen Dawson and all are welcome

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – Starting Friday 23rd Sept from 6pm until 7pm, before 7pm Mass we will have silent adoration to prayer for our church, community and the FTiH process.

Daily Prayer Focus – Could you prayer at home, or during the week at Eucharistic Services/Mass or wherever you are for the success of FTiH. A suggested format is below:

Identifies your talents that you want to share – however small and however frequent – it’s up to you

Provides a way of allowing you to get involved in the things that matter to you

Brings greater clarity of communication

We will discuss further how this will work over the coming weeks but we hope you can see its value in that it is a mechanism that allows all of us to share, communicate and develop those areas that will continue to make our community stronger, inclusive, flexible to change and outreaching in its outlook.

To Whom Can We Be A Neighbour To – Summary update on our initial meetings

We have made initial contact (meet & greet) with other churches in our area as suggested by feedback from St. John’s parishioners:

Allows people an easy way to get involved to whatever level they feel comfortable with

FTiH - IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ …

TheHub@TheHall

Since FTiH started, and particularly during this phase of ‘Whom can we be a neighbour to’, the feedback, comments and suggestions from StJohn’s parishioners have highlighted a number of areas that together - and hopefully with our wider community – we can build on and develop as we grow and develop our partnerships with those around us.

The graphic below tries to capture those areas that you have discussed during this time and we intend to create a larger display in the hall and use the hall as a ‘hub’ to capture and develop for our community ideas and actions.

In the same way as we captured the children’s ideas and actions, it is hoped that:

The 5 areas and tree provides a channel to capture your ideas/suggestions/actions

Sunday – Everyone! Monday – All the clergy in our deanery Tuesday – Parish Pastoral Councils & Finance Committees Wednesday – Catechists, teachers and students Thursday – Families of all shapes and sizes that make up our community

Friday – All those involved in the upkeep & running of our churches

Saturday – For Bishop Séamus and those who will be responsible for assisting him in decision-making.
