Advent Lapel Pins (1st Advent of Christ's Mass) ...

“... Each of us is an innkeeper ... Who decides if there is room for Jesus ...”

Advent Lapel pins that depict the nativity scene were blessed at Sunday mass on the 1st Sunday of Advent and distributed to all the parishioners so they could wear them as an outward sign of there faith.

Parishioners and all who saw them loved them.

A Christmas Invite ... For ALL Parents of our School Children :)

Every year the schools of St. John's and St. Paul's send out an "Advent Invitation" on our behalf which we are most grateful for. (Click on the image to see the invite and download it if you like)

The invite sent to all the parents warmly invites them to come to a mass during Advent or to our special carol service just before Midnight Mass (St. John's is one of the few parishes that still performs a midnight mass).

On the back of the invite is a "feedback form" asking parents for their opinion about our church and how we can help or make it better for them.

The Baptism of the Lord - Individual Invites to all Baptised during the year ...

Just after Christmas day we send out individual invites to all those who have been baptised in the year to come to mass for the Baptism of the Lord which closes the joyous season of Christmas.

This builds on the fact we have previously sent out Individual Baptism Bells during Advent to all those who have been baptised during the year at St. John’s.

By following this up with these personalised invites reinforces our commitment to the baptised child.

A New Year Resolution ... A New Year Challenge”

Why not make some prayer cards and keep them in your pocket.

If you are ever talking to someone about your faith, why not give them the prayer card as a sign of the "Joy of the Gospel".

As a challenge, see if you can hand this prayer card on to someone by the end of the year.

“... freely have you received, freely give ...” +Matthew 10:8
