Bishop Séamus

As you may have already read and heard, the proposal we submitted was approved with the added bonus of partnering with Sacred Heart, North Gosforth. This is a momentous decision for us all and everyone in our partnership is very excited at the prospect of developing and building our communities together.

There are four partnerships within our Northumberland Vicariate of which all proposals were accepted with ours referenced as Vicaraiate-4 (A4).

The Diocesan FTiH team will be providing further guidance in due course but their immediate ask is that we ‘Think People’. They tell us that:

“…Partnerships are about people, communities and relationships. An important aspect of the early stage of forming a partnership is for people to get to know each other better. Perhaps it is worth thinking about and discussing how you might start to do this across your area …”

Further Announcements & Events:

Walking Together in Hope – The Diocesan FTiH team are organising a walk along Cuddy’s Corse on Sunday 19th March to celebrate St Cuthbert’s Day. Details will be finalised shortly but the outline plan is to start the walk (at Chester-le-Street) late morning/early afternoon, have a prayer service and a break at Finchale Priory and conclude at St Cuthbert’s tomb in Durham Cathedral. Overall, this is an 8-mile route but there will be opportunities to join just for the prayer service – or to do part of the walk too. To register your interest or to request further information please e-mail us on hope@diocesehn.org.uk (0191 243 3304). We hope to organise transport for all in our partnership once final details and timings come from the Diocese FTiH team.
