MOTHERING Sunday fell on the Fourth Sunday of Lent an d, undoubtedly, that particular Sunday is chosen for good reason as traditionally it is known as ‘Laetare Sunday’.
Laetare means ‘Rejoice’ and we certainly rejoice and celebrate all mother s, for without mother s we would be lost and, indeed, the Church would not have been born.
And so, when the Northumberland Deanery planned its Mother’s Day activity, we focused on that fact.
