ASH WEDNESDAY – Next Wednesday (14th Feb.) is Ash Wednesday, a day of Fasting and Abstinence.
COFFEE AFTERNOONS – The next two Coffee Afternoons will be this Thurs. 8th Feb. 2018 & 8th March 2018 at 1.30pm. These are open to ALL, not just parishioners, Please come along and invite a friend and/or your neighbour.
FAMILY FUN DAY – The next planning meeting will be held in the hall after Mass on Sunday 25th Feb. 2018 to arrange the Family Fun Day planned for the 8th July 2018.
2018 NATIONAL EUCHARISTIC PILGRIMAGE AND CONGRESS – 7-9th September 2018 in Liverpool.
We hope to send 17 delegates from our partnership of 5 parishes.
MASS INTENTION OFFERINGS – Are not too far in advance, please use the envelopes at the back of church.
USED STAMPS – Please save all the stamps from your Cards and letters for the Little Sisters of the Poor. Please place them in the box at the back of church.
GARDEN OF REMEMBRANCE – We still require additional volunteers before this project can get off the ground, please add your name to the list at the back of church.

YPC Cake Sale - after Mass TODAY
St John's youth council have been working hard fundraising for the Little Sisters of the Poor, this is the YPC's last event before visiting St Joseph's Home to present them with a cheque and to meet some of the residents.

YPC Mother’s Day Craft Afternoon
Saturday 24th February 2.30pm until 4.30pm
All children are invited to join us in the church hall for a fun filled afternoon. We will be working together to make special gifts in preparation for Mother’s Day, there will be juice and hot dogs available. YPC always have amazing ideas and we cannot wait to hear what your thoughts and suggestions are for 2018. This is going to be a fun and relaxed afternoon, we hope you can make it, children can be dropped off and collected for the times above, we hope to see you there.

Partnership Holiday/Pilgrimage Gozo, First Week in September 2018:
Names are being finalised in order to book flights and accommodation in the Jesuit Retreat Centre in Gozo. Could those who have shown interest please confirm to Graham Wilkins (07929115712 ) or Deacon Rob Wareing (07841530991). Rob & Graham will soon be arranging a meeting for all concerned.
“Growing In Faith Together” (‘GIFT’) 2018 @Sacred Heart
The final instalment is February 1st - Sacred Heart Presbytery, 7pm-8:30pm.

St. Paul Fund Raising – Murder & Sparkling Wine – Thursday February 22nd – Tickets £10 per person
St. Paul’s are raising funds for their church with a Murder Mystery night. Fun starts prompt 7 for 7.30pm.
Format: Cocktail party held in a stately home (Benedictine Social Club) - Dress (optional) but if you want to wear that little cocktail dress or black-tie then great. After the first scene the actors will visit tables where you get the chance to question them. Light supper followed by another scene and more time for you to ask those relevant questions. Lent is Fast Approaching – Ash Wednesday is on 14th February and this year we will again be promoting the Purple Ribbon as an outward sign of our faith. Please use your lapel cross pins and attach a purple ribbon. We will supply strips of ribbon that will be at the back of church starting Sunday 11th February God Bless
Benedictine Weekend Entertainment – Every Saturday night from 6:30pm until late the Benedictine social club has live music entertainment along with bingo - £3 cover charge.
Every Sunday night from 7:30pm Bingo And 50/50 Dancing – come and do the Tango, Foxtrot, Rhumba £1 cover charge.
