A Lenten Prayer Calendar – Some have asked if we could print the Lenten Prayer Calendar we used last year – Not to disappoint, these are at the back of church – Please help yourselves. For the FaceBook/tweeters amongst you, we will also post/tweet each prayer during lent (tweeter details: @StJohnsRCAnnits hashtag #LentenPrayerCalendar )

NEW PARISHIONERS - If you are a new member of the parish, would you please make yourself known to Fr. Harriott or a member of the Parish Council and complete a form available at the back of church.
OFFERTORY ENVELOPES – We will soon be distributing the next financial years envelopes, if you do not already have your name on the list or you have changed you address, please can you let us know A.S.A.P.
IMPORTANT – 24HRS FOR THE LORD – All parishes have been requested by the Holy Father to take part in this, from the evening Mass of Friday13th March to the evening Mass on Saturday 14th March 2015. There is a list at the back of church giving half hour intervals, please can we try and ensure the 24 hours is covered, either in church or in the privacy of your own homes.
MASS INTENTIONS – Weekday Mass intentions are not too far in advance. Please use envelopes at the back of church. Please give your telephone number in case your requested date is not available.
BAPTISM – Please remember in your prayers Paxton Andrews Mole who will be baptised this Sunday (8th March 2015).
PROCLAIM '15 – We hope to adapt and use this initiative, please have a think about what this could mean to us.
Purple Ribbon for Lent – We are again promoting the ”Purple Ribbon” campaign, so “blow the cobwebs” of your lapel pin and attach a purple ribbon. Ribbons are available at the back of church. Also, for the “Young@Heart” there are some purple wrist bands – please help yourselves.
GENERAL ELECTION 2015 – Please collect a letter to Catholics in England & Wales from their Bishops.
CARDINAL LUIS ANTONIO TAGLE the Archbishop of Manila, will be visiting St Mary’s Cathedral on Monday 9th March. Presiding at Mass at 12.05pm and speaking at a special evening service at 7pm. All are welcome.
TYNESIDE IRISH REMINISCENCES – to be held at the Benedictine Club on Monday 9th March 12.30-2.30pm.

MOTHERING SUNDAY – The children of the parish will be taking part in the Sunday Mass.
ITHIRST – The next Faith talk in a pub is to be held Sunday 15th March 2015 at 7.30pm in the Londonderry, Sunderland SR1 3 ES (see leaflets at the back of church) Jerry Laidler 07801 452372 has a few seats in his car if you require a lift.
MINI PILGRIMAGE TO DURHAM – (Thurs. 26th March 2015). The Diocese are exhibiting icons of the Northern Saints. St. Aidan's, Ashington have asked if St. John's would like to share a coach. If interested please contact Jerry Laidler.
