We started our Friday Store this past Friday, where students got to spend their hard-earned points (dollars) on fun prizes! Some students chose to save their "money" while other students "shopped." If you happen to notice in Thrillshare that there was a large deduction in points, it is not due to behavior, but due to them spending money. This big deduction will only happen on Fridays.
To help keep our store stocked, we are asking for donations of small prizes. If you’d like to contribute, items can easily be found on our Amazon Wish List. Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping make this reward system extra special for the students! Please view our wishlist here: Mitten and Lucero's Prize Wish List
Picture day is Tuesday, September 16th. These are the pictures that are in the yearbook, so please send your child to school in clothes you would be okay with in the yearbook!
Getting Messy with Oobleck!
Our third graders had a great time during science this week as we made Oobleck together to see how matter can be a solid and a liquid at the same time! Here is the recipe if you want to try to make it at home:
- 1 cup water
- 1.5-2 cups corn starch
- a few drops of food coloring of your choice
Please remind children to take good care of computers; carry with two hands, keep away from food, drinks, and little brothers or sisters. Each night we ask that you have a special place to charge the chromebooks and double check that they make it in your child's backpack in the morning. We will talk to the students about how it is their responsibility, but please help them for the first couple weeks.
***Please send in wired earbuds or headphones that plug into your child's chromebook. Label them with your child's name if possible.
