We have had a great week back to school after Thanksgiving break! We are finishing up our Math i-Ready diagnostic and will be starting our Reading one this week. I will be sending home results in the next couple of weeks. I am so proud of them or working hard and showing growth!
In Reading, we will be using holiday themed stories to review comprehension strategies we have learned so far this year.
In Writing, students will work on a creative writing piece called Dear Santa, I can explain... Students will be writing a letter to Santa from the perspective of a well-known villian or antagonist of their choice. The letter will be explaining to Santa why they did what they did and justifying their actions.
In Math, we started our Geometry unit. The students are showing understanding of the topics already! We will be sprinkling in some other Math concepts, Christmas themed of course🎄, as we wrap up the first semester of the school year.
We will be studying Holidays and Traditions in Social Studies and would love to include all of our Gator family customs and traditions. If your family celebrates a holiday other than Christmas, please let me know. Please feel free to share any fun traditions you may have as well. Children enjoy teaching friends about their family traditions.
Library day is Tuesday! Remember to bring your library books to school on Tuesday in order to check out new books.
Please bring charged iPad to school everyday.
Jolie was our celebrity of the week! We enjoyed getting to know more about her this week. Her brother was her guest reader of choice. The students enjoyed having him read to us!
We planned our holiday party this week! The students got to vote on which treat, drink, game, and craft they would like to have at the party. They really enjoyed getting to plan some of their party! 🎄♥️
