I hope this first edition of our Gator Connect Parent Community Newsletter finds you while you are in a cool relaxing place!
My name is Alishia Ilic, and I am deeply honored and incredibly excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Glenhope Elementary School.
I have spent my career in education with the firm belief that every child deserves a champion, and I am committed to being that for our students. My goal is to continue and build upon the tradition of excellence at Glenhope, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and challenging learning environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.
I am so eager to get to know each of you and, most importantly, our amazing students. I believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for student success. I look forward to working collaboratively with you to make this a fantastic school year.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, ideas, or simply to introduce yourself. We have several exciting events coming up and I look forward to meeting you all.

I hope you're finding time this summer to unwind, recharge, and make lasting memories with your loved ones!
My name is Nicki Clem, and I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal at Glenhope Elementary. Stepping into this role is both an honor and a joy, and I’m genuinely excited to become part of a school community that values connection, growth, and excellence.
Throughout my career in GCISD, I’ve always been guided by the belief that every child should feel valued, encouraged, and empowered to reach their highest potential. At Glenhope, I’m committed to building upon the strong foundation already in place to continue fostering a learning environment where students not only excel academically but also feel safe, supported, and confident.
I'm especially excited to get to know our incredible Gators and their families. Building strong, trusting relationships with you is so important to me, because when schools and families work together, it creates a lasting impact on student growth and success.
I encourage you to reach out if you have questions, thoughts, or simply want to say hello. I’m eager to connect and begin this exciting school year together. I look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming events.

August 7th, we welcome our new Kindergarten Gators to experience our Kinder Camp! We ask that our new kinder scholars attend Thursday, August 7th- from 4:30-6:30. Parents, please park and walk your gator to the front doors. We will invite all kindergarteners into the Learning Commons while you join the admin team in the cafeteria. Parents are invited to mix and mingle to get to know each other in our Cafe during the student camp experience. We will begin our Kinder Parent Meeting at 4:45pm. We can't wait to see you then!

Families can now apply at www.schoollunchapp.com to receive free or reduced-priced meals during the 2025-2026 school year. Only one application needs to be completed per household. To view school menus or to learn more about free and reduced-price meals, visit GCISD’s Nutrition Services web page. If you have any questions, please call 817-251-5617 or email child.nutrition@gcisd.net. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

We welcome our parents to engage in our events throughout this school year! Any parent attending or supporting an event during the school day must have a cleared background check. Background checks must be completed each year!
