In Reading, we focused on sequencing and character traits. Some students chose to share their personal narratives with the class this week. We had a great time hearing each other's stories!
In Math, we continued with addition and subtraction and also worked on place value.
Our Science unit on Animals will continue through November 7th. We talked about different animal structures and how those structures help animals survive.
In Social Studies, we are learning about patriotism and exemplifying good citizenship. We are learning about National Symbols.
Reading/Language Arts: I can identify and use text features to understand what I read in a nonfiction story. I can retell events in order from stories I read. I can write informational texts.
Math: I can solve two digit addition and subtraction problems with and without regrouping. I can identify the value of a number depending on the place it is in.
Science: I can identify the external structures of different animals and compare how those structures help different animals live, move, and meet basic needs for survival.
Social Studies: I can explain national patriotic symbols.
Library day is Tuesday! Remember to bring your library books to school on Tuesday in order to check out new books.

50th Day of School is tomorrow, Monday, October 27th! Your child can dress in 50s attire.
Book Character Day is this Friday, October 31st!

Friday, October 31st is Book Character Dress Up Day! Students are encouraged to dress as their favorite book character. Your child can bring their book to class on Friday.
**NO MASKS OR WEAPON-STYLE PROPS**
Reminder: This isn't Halloween costume day. Please make sure your child is dressed as a character from a book.
Students got to share their personal narratives with the class. Some students chose to share out loud in front of the class, while others chose to share at their table.
Students received a Math Menu full of different activity options. Many of them enjoyed creating their own addition and subtraction memory matching game.
We had out first Celebrity of the Week this week! Every student will have a week to be the celebrity. The celebrity gets to bring photos to hang in the classroom, items for show and tell, read a book to the class, and have a guest reader come read to the class. It was a fun addition to our week!
We had another virtual field trip! This time to an Apple Orchard in Idalou, Texas.
