Please make sure you have signed your skyward forms! There are three forms available in Skyward Family Access under "online forms" on the left side.
Snack will be at 9:10 each morning. If your child wants a snack, they need to bring a nut free snack. Due to allergies, we are no longer allowed to provide snacks.
Library will be each week. Please remind students to keep their library books safe in their backpack!

This week: We identified author's purpose and learned how to identify and understand first and third person point-of-view. We learned how to determine the meaning of words with affixes and decoded words with short and long e spelling patterns. We also reviewed types of sentences and continued prewriting and drafting our personal narratives.
Next week: We will retell/summarize and determine theme in our text, continue working with affixes and decode words with short and long i spelling patterns. We will learn about using quotations in our writing and edit, revise, publish and share our personal narratives!
This week: We compared and ordered numbers into the hundred millions place. We used the comparision symbols (< > =) in order to make statements about a set of numbers. We also rounded numbers to the 10s, 100s, 1,000s and 10,000s place.
Next Week: We will review addition and subtraction from 3rd grade. We will review our unit topics in preparation for our TEKS Check (unit test.)
First Math Test will be Friday, September 5th.
This Week : We learned about mass as a property of matter, learning to use tools like pan balances, triple beam balances, and digital scales to measure the amount of matter in objects. We completed an assignment "packing a backpack" for the Appalachian trail on canvas where we had to be mindful of the amount of mass in our pack.
Next Week : We will explore density as a property of matter, conducting experiments to see which objects are less dense than water and float, and which are more dense than water and sink.
This Week : We began our week two newspaper about map skills and location. We used our knowledge of maps to learn about Texas and its geographical features and regions. We learned to identify a scale, legend, title, and compass rose in a map.
Next Week : We will begin our week three newspaper about the four regions of Texas (great plains, north central plains, coastal plains, and mountains and basins) and compare their features.
Working in pairs, we used a place value chart to organize numbers into the millions place.
