*If you want your child tested for GT and/or ASPIRE, you can request this through Skyward. Students who have been tested this school year will not be tested again until 2nd grade. If you are unsure of the timeline, you can complete the referral request and the dates will be confirmed with district personnel.*
Last week we began our MOY iReady assessments and will continue with those this week. In addition, we will be assessing and reviewing skills to this point to see progress through the midpoint.
We began our Geometry and Fractions unit. We will be identifying properties of 2D and 3D shapes as well as irregular shapes. Our study of fractions will focus on halves, fourths and fair shares.
In literacy, we are using skills practice with some holiday themed stories and activities. We are working on retelling, ABC order, comprehension with text evidence while still working on high frequency words and handwriting.
We also got to vote on activities for our holiday party. The children enjoyed getting to choose activities, snacks and drinks for the party. Teacher will be reaching out to parents with selections in case of allergies.Â
We will be studying holidays and traditions in social studies and would love to include all of our Gator family customs and traditions. If your family celebrates in a way we can highlight, please let your child's teacher know. Children enjoy teaching friends about their family traditions.
