Happy Holidays!

Things To Know: 

*The last day to refer a k-4th student for GT/ASPIRE is Monday, December 15th. It is a HARD deadline! Please sign up your child in Skyward. 

* StuCo is accepting donations for the Grace Christmas Cottage through next week. 

*With the unpredictable and ever changing Texas weather, it is very important to make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the outside weather.  We have seen lots of children with shorts and no jackets when the outside temperature is below 40.  This is an issue for recess and potential situations that would have students evacuate the building (ex:  fire drills).  Although it is nice and toasty inside, please prepare for the outside temperatures.

*This is a very busy time of year.  Please check folders, email and calendars to make sure you are aware of all the events happening.  We don't want you to miss any of the fun!

*We have snacks.  We can always use more.  Any donations of Sea Salt Veggie Straws would be greatly appreciated.  

 *Please continue to encourage your child to read, read, read.  Books are great to grab before getting in the car.

*The cafeteria is taking visitors again!  If you would like to have lunch with your child, please sign in at the office before coming to the cafeteria.  Second grade lunch is from 12:00 - 12:30.

What we are learning:

Reading/Language Arts:  Monitoring their understanding when reading by asking and answering questions

Math:  Graphing

Science:  Wind and water energy on the earth

Social Studies:  Identifying city ,state and national governments leaders and their roles and responsibilities
