We have had such a wonderful week of learning in 3rd grade! The students have been engaged and enthusiastic as we explored new concepts in reading, math, and writing. A highlight of our week was taking our very first trip to the school library, where each child was able to choose a book to bring home and enjoy. It was exciting to see their faces light up as they discovered new stories and topics that interest them. We are off to a great start, and I am so proud of the hard work they are already showing!

2 Sessions
5:30-6:00 and 6:00-6:30
Where: Mr. Hendrickson's Classroom B108
- Please remind children to take good care of computers; carry with two hands, keep away from food, drinks, and little brothers or sisters. Each night we ask that you have a special place to charge the chromebooks and double check that they make it in your child's backpack in the morning. We will talk to the students about how it is their responsibility, but please help them for the first couple weeks.
***Please send in wired earbuds or headphones that plug into your child's chromebook. Label them with your child's name if possible.
Please make sure your child brings a pair of wired headphones to school as soon as possible. We use headphones every day for learning activities, and unfortunately, we do not have enough extras to provide for everyone in the classroom. Having their own set will ensure your child can fully participate and stay engaged. Thank you so much for helping us make sure all students are prepared for daily learning!
We explored important reading skills, including point of view, literary elements, and theme. Students practiced identifying who is telling the story, describing characters, setting, and events, and thinking deeply about the message or lesson in a text. They did a fantastic job applying these skills to their reading!
This week students will be learning...
