In Reading, we focused on summarizing what we read. Students also worked on knowing the setting of the story and the story plot. In Writing, we are continuing to work on our personal narrative writing unit. Students have finished writing their stories and this week we will revise and edit before publishing our final draft.
In Math, we are still in our addition and subtraction unit. We started with more subtraction this week and learned some subtraction strategies.
Our Science unit on objects and materials continues through early October. We will learn about classifying objects, sorting by characteristics, weight, systems and how things can be changed by heating and cooling.
In Social Studies, our community unit is continuing by learning about local, state, and national government.
