Snack will be at 9:10 each morning. If your child wants a snack, they need to bring a nut free snack. Due to allergies, we are no longer allowed to provide snacks.
Library will be each week. Please remind students to keep their library books safe in their backpack!

This week: We began Module 2, exploring this essential question: "How do people and animals use their senses to navigate the world?"
We transitioned to reading non-fiction text and informational/descriptive writing. In addition, we explored short and long O spelling patterns and sentence fragments.
Next week: We will discover media techinques and explore figurative language in our text as well as learn about homophones and begin drafting our descriptive writing.
This week: We learned a few strategies to multiply multidigit numbers. We learned partial products, area model and array model.
Next Week: We will use standard algorithm to mulitply numbers. We will be doing this ALL week because we will need the practice!

This Week : We explored magnetism as a property of matter, conducting experiments to see which objects are magnetic and which are not. We found out how to use a magnet to sort objects into groups, and how engineers use magnets to make trains levitate!
Next Week : We will explore mixtures, what they are made of, and how mass of individual objects is conserved when they are created.
This Week : We began our week four newspaper about Texas's locations in the past compared to the present. We learned about motivations for early settlers, immigration, and technological advancements that made these moves possible. We took our Unit 1 Test on the regions of Texas on Friday.
Next Week : We will begin our week five newspaper about the first people to live in the Americas. The native tribes of Texas and their traits. These include Apache, Comanche, Wichita, Caddo, Jumano, Karankawa, and Tonkawa. We will talk about their culture, their way of life, and their immense respect for the land they lived on.
Our "math mats" are a collection of different organizers that aid in mastery of certain skills!
We set up our data folders this week. Everyone set a math goal for themselves for the month of September!
