We had another gator-rific pep rally last week! Our students brought their loudest cheers, their biggest smiles, and their unstoppable school spirit. (Earplugs would’ve been a solid life choice.)
Friday was also Gatorville Clubs Day, and our students were buzzing with excitement! Thanks to the Club Hopper passes, kiddos got to hop, skip, and jump into a brand-new club to explore. One minute they were budding artists, the next they were disc golf champions — we loved watching them discover new passions!
And of course, we wrapped things up as we headed into Thanksgiving Break. We hope your week is filled with family time, full bellies, and maybe even a little extra sleep!
When we return from Thanksgiving break, students will take the mid-year i-Ready diagnostic in reading and math. This helps us see all the amazing growth they’ve made so far and plan next steps to keep learning strong!
Go Gators! 💚🐊
Gator families, the holiday season is almost here, and we’re ready for all the festive fun! To make crafts and special classroom activities extra magical, we’ve put together a holiday wish list.
Any donation, big or small, helps make this season sparkle for our Gators! 💚
We love seeing our students excited about their favorite toys and fidgets — but we’ve noticed they’re starting to take over our classrooms like tiny, colorful invaders.
Starting this week, toys and fidgets should stay at home unless a student has a fidget accommodation listed in their IEP or 504 Plan. For students who do have approved fidgets, please make sure they:
Fit in one hand
Can be used quietly while working
This helps us keep our classrooms focused, calm, and ready for learning. Thank you for your support! 💚🐊
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, December 2nd from 6:30–7:30 PM for our Glenhope Fall Gallery Walk! Come see all the amazing art our talented Gators have been working so diligently on — each piece is a masterpiece in its own right! You’ll also get to witness the incredible skills that our outstanding art teacher, Mrs. Towery, has inspired in her students.
And don’t miss the special performance by our amazing Hatchling Choir — it’s sure to fill the halls with music and joy! 🎶💚
🎅🥞 Mark your calendars! On Saturday, December 6th from 8–10 AM, join us for a holly-jolly Breakfast with Santa! Enjoy fluffy pancakes, festive crafts, and of course, pictures with the big guy in red himself. 🎨📸 Don’t let the syrupy fun pass you by—register by December 1st to save your spot on the nice list! 🎄✨
- Please remind your child to take proper care of their Chromebook: always carry it with two hands, keep it away from food, drinks, and younger siblings, and store it safely when not in use. Each night, ensure there is a designated place to charge the Chromebook and double-check that it makes it into your child’s backpack each morning. While we will reinforce that caring for the device is the student’s responsibility, your support during these first few weeks is essential.
Additionally, please send in wired earbuds or headphones that plug into your child’s Chromebook. If possible, label them with your child’s name.

Last week, readers dove into The Chocolate Touch, clarified tricky parts, peeked at literary elements, and discovered the author’s purpose—all while having a sweet time with the story!
This week students will be learning...
Reading- This week in Reading, our readers will continue enjoying The Chocolate Touch by Patrick Skene Catling! They will focus on making and confirming predictions (TEKS 3.6A, 3.6C, 3.7C, 3.7E) to think ahead about what might happen next. Students will explore figurative language (TEKS 3.3B, 3.6D, 3.6F, 3.7C, 3.7F, 3.7G, 3.10D), noticing how the author’s words create vivid images and feelings. They will analyze text structure (TEKS 3.6G, 3.7C, 3.7G, 3.9D(iii), 3.10B) to understand how the story is organized, and examine point of view (TEKS 3.7C, 3.7F, 3.7G, 3.10E) to see how the narrator’s perspective shapes the story. Encourage your child to share their favorite parts and predictions from the story at home!

I can show the relationship between multiplication and division through models of real-life scenarios.(TEKS 3.4H)
I can Identify odd or even numbers, using divisibility rules.(TEKS 3.4H)
To help your child at home with these skills-
Create word problems involving up multiplication with two digit multiplied by one digit.
Practice their multiplication facts/ skip counting. (Students can log onto canvas for a link to our songs and online flashcards)
Work in independent practice workbook on pages 145-152.
Practice division story problems.
The images below are some ideas of math practice to do at home (choice board) and examples of these types of representations.
Dear parents,
Multiplication fluency is a very important foundational skill.
In order to accomplish this goal, students will practice their multiplication facts and will be quizzed every Thursday. Each quiz has 20 questions and they will be given 3 minutes to complete the quiz. They must score at least a 70% in order to move on to the next fact. The facts that will be assessed are x0-x12.
They will have class time to practice their facts but we also ask that they practice at home.
We recommend using flashcards and/or playing online multiplication games.
Recommended free Multiplication practice websites:

Click the fact your child is currently practicing, select how many questions and the time limit.

Click multiplication games and pick game of your choice or practice multiplication speed by clicking Speed Test X on the menu bar.
Once your child masters all of their facts, they will be awarded a certificate of completion.
