In Reading, we focused on retelling and making connections. This is a skill that we will focus on throughout the year, as this is an important skill for reading comprehension. We also did some informational texts on animals to tie in with our animal unit in Science. Some students chose to share their personal narratives with the class this week. We had a great time hearing each other's stories!
In Math, we are still in our addition and subtraction unit. We have moved on to two digit plus or minus two digit numbers. We have also started learning about regrouping. We will be working on place value this week!
Our Science unit on Animals will continue through November 7th. We talked about different animal structures and how those structures help animals survive.
In Social Studies, we are learning about patriotism and exemplifying good citizenship. We are learning about N
Reading/Language Arts: I can identify and use text features to understand what I read in a nonfiction story. I can retell events in order from stories I read. I can write informational texts.
Math: I can solve two digit addition and subtraction problems with and without regrouping.
Science: I can identify the external structures of different animals and compare how those structures help different animals live, move, and meet basic needs for survival.
Social Studies: I can explain national patriotic symbols.
Library day is Tuesday! Remember to bring your library books to school on Tuesday in order to check out new books.
