SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 21,2021 1st SUNDAY OF LENT
PRIEST: In today’s reading from Genesis we hear of how God first establishes a covenant with the earth following the great flood. Confident in God’s promise to never forget this covenant, let us bring the needs of our world before the Lord.
1. For our church leaders, that they may guide the flock entrusted to them and show them by example how to follow Jesus this Lent into their own desert experience, we pray to the Lord.
2. For leaders of nations, together may they commit themselves to the preservation of the environment and protection of endangered species, we pray to the Lord.
3. For those experiencing unprecedented severe winter weather conditions in the South, especially Texas, may they receive the faith and strength that only God can provide, we pray to the Lord.
4. For people everywhere, may we receive the patience, vigilance, and understanding necessary to keep us safe during the current surge of COVID-19 and for a speedy and equitable distribution of a vaccine, we pray to the Lord.
5. For those of our parish who are sick, especially those with COVID-19, and their caregivers, we pray to the Lord.
6. For those who have died, may they celebrate everlasting life in Christ Jesus, especially Teresa Giang Thi Nguyen, Celine Doyle, Ronald Talamantez, Teresa Trinh Thi Tran, Kay Lunetta, we pray to the Lord.

PRIEST: God of creation, you are the source of salvation and the font of living water that calls us to new life.
